THE ADULT TRAINING PROGRAM which includes the former Senior Program, serves approximately 165 individuals with disabilities. Various opportunities based on the desires and abilities of each individual are provided. Social and recreational activities, paid work, volunteer experiences, communication and mobility training, and physical and occupational therapies are among the experiences offered. There are eight individual components as well as other areas, which include a workshop, kitchen, classrooms, small activity areas, changing rooms, and physical therapy rooms.
Program participants enjoy many community activities, such as Aquabilities, Reading Phillies, Cabela’s, Longwood Gardens, Oley Turnpike Dairy, Blue Marsh, Leesport Auction, Hawk Mountain, and many more.
In addition to enjoying community activities, many program participants also enjoy community volunteering. Volunteer sites include Wood-To-Wonderful, Humane Society, Meals-On-Wheels, American Cancer Society, Adopt-A-Highway, and the Animal Rescue League.
The Department of Public Welfare and the PA Department of Aging license this program.
