Instructor/Vocational Program

A Vocational Instructor is responsible for providing direct support, and training to individuals with developmental disabilities in a manufacturing environment.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Providing ongoing, direct supervision to program participants during work time, including breaks, lunch and before and after scheduled program time
  • Monitor production quality; count, inspect, package and skid/wrap completed work
  • Assist individuals in developing good work habits and attitudes by simulating a work atmosphere that is compatible with industry
  • Communicate effectively to program participants, co-workers and supervisors pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Accurately complete tally sheets, timecards, behavior charts, goal documentation and inventory

A Vocational Instructor must possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, have at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and applicants must not have been convicted of any prohibitive offenses as outlined in Act 169.    Those applicants with manufacturing experience are preferred.

The rate range for a Vocational Instructor is $8.65/hr – $10.73/hr depending upon experience.  Full time employees are eligible for a generous benefits package which includes all major medical benefits and a retirement plan.  Paid training is also provided.
